We Rock The Spectrum (kid’s gym)


We Rock The Spectrum is a kid’s inclusive gym for all kids, it was founded by families who are passionate about giving all children a safe place to play and grow, allowing them to become comfortable with their peers, gain self-confidence, and be THE BEST THEY CAN BE! They founded the gym to offer a play space where children can continue to work on developing their play skills and sensory regulation in a safe and nurturing environment. As strong advocates of Early Intervention across Multidisciplinary Therapies (Speech, Occupational, Physical & Behavioral), they aspire to have this gym serve as a community hub for families and caregivers to learn about all of the tremendous resources available to them in Southern Palm Beach County. Through a variety of classes, workshops, and fun programming, Lauren looks forward to offering an amazing experience to ALL children and their families across Palm Beach County.


The gym includes:

  • Suspended equipment with swings for balance and vestibular treatment

  • Crash mats and crash pillows for fun, motor planning, and strength

  • Tunnels & Zip line

  • Trampolines for building leg and core strength 

  • Indoor play structure for climbing and increasing playground skills

  • Sensory-based toys

  • Fine motor play toys and equipment 

  • Arts and crafts area with chalkboard

Museum of Discovery and Science


Every Sunday, the Museum of Discovery and Science hosts “Sensory Friendly Sundays” MODS is open an hour early for sensory-friendly Museum exploration and activities followed by an IMAX film at 12:30 p.m. To provide a more sensory-sensitive environment for individuals on the autism spectrum, the theater lights will be turned up and the sound will be lowered. All films will be presented in 2D. No trailers will be shown before the movie. Audience members are welcome to get up, sing, walk, dance and shout without worrying about complaints. Families may bring snacks from home, as well as blankets and other small items to be comfortable. Guests can also participate in a variety of sensory based activities throughout the Museum. Children will engage in social interactions and improve the processing, modulation and regulation of sensory input to increase participation in a natural environment.

Young At Art Museum


Young At Art Museum, a children’s museum with interactive displays, offers Sensory Sunday every second Sunday of the month. During this time, the museum opens one hour early for families with children with autism or other sensory integration sensitivities. Children will be able to explore exhibits in a calm and quiet environment and complete an art activity. The museum’s YAA for ALL Tool Bags, which can be checked out for free to use during a visit, include adaptive art tools like special grip scissors, weighted pencils and brushes, textured paint and noise-reducing headphones.

Flamingo Gardens


Established in 1927, Flamingo Gardens is one of the oldest botanical gardens and attractions in South Florida. Flamingo Gardens is the premier Everglades Learning Center and South Florida Wildlife and Botanical Sanctuary. Flamingo Gardens mission is to depict, preserve, and provide education about the natural and cultural heritage of South Florida and the Everglades in the botanical gardens and wildlife sanctuary. This tranquil botanical garden and Everglades wildlife sanctuary offers plenty of space to stretch out and relax. There are paved trails through exotic trees, butterfly and hummingbird gardens and a children’s garden. Compact animal exhibits include a flamingo pond, black bear habitat and wildlife encounters. A great place for children to run around and explore.

Chuck E. Cheese


Chuck E. Cheese is proud to support families who have children with autism and other special needs. Through their Sensory Sensitive Sunday’s program, they offer families a quieter dining and entertainment environment, dimmed lighting and a sensory-friendly arcade experience. The sensory-friendly events also include a trained and caring staff to ensure each guest has a safe, fun-filled visit. They open 2 hours early on the first Sunday of every month, specifically for children with autism and other special needs.

Broward Center For Performing Arts


The Broward Center for Performing is a large multi-venue performing arts venue. The center offers sensory inclusive performances for children with Autism and other disabilities. These performances are intended to create a welcoming and supportive environment for children and adults on the autism spectrum as well as individuals with other sensitivity issues or developmental disabilities. To create a sensory-inclusive setting, slight adjustments have been made to the production including reduced sound levels, no flashing or strobe lights and minimal special effects. An area adjacent to the theater has been designated as the ABA Centers of Florida Sensory Quiet Room with a trained therapist to provide audience support. Enjoy complimentary pre-show arts and crafts activity provided by Young at Art Museum and join for a post-show character meet & greet!
